Two men, including an off-duty NYPD officer, were killed in a wrong way crash on I-87 in Suffern early Tuesday morning.
Police say Richard Christopher, 32, was on his way to work in the Bronx when he somehow got on I-87, heading southbound on the northbound side. Christopher then crashed head-on into a Honda CRV driven by James Devito, 59, of Airmont.
Both drivers were killed. Police did not find drugs or alcohol in either car.
State police say they are waiting for a report from their accident investigation team and the toxicology results from both victims. The results could take months.
