New York City prepared security measures Tuesday ahead of the possible indictment of former President Donald Trump.
Security barriers have been placed outside Trump Tower, the New York home of the former president, to Manhattan Criminal Court. New Yorkers will see an increased uniform presence across the city.
Authorities say there is no credible threat to the city, but they're preparing for any potential backlash to Trump's legal issues. Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams say they are working closely with the NYPD to monitor any potential protests or rallies.
The head of New York Young Republicans Club was present Monday rallying with a small group and called for a peaceful, controlled crowd. The NYPD adds they understand people have the right to protest but are asking for it to be calm and peaceful.
It's unclear if or when the former president will be arrested.
