Sources say the man was performing work on the refrigerator at Richard Fruits and Vegetables on Brook Avenue.

He stepped out to take a break and grab his drill when two men got into an argument on the street. Sources say at least one of them pulled out a gun and began firing.

One of the bullets hit the head. Sources say he was not involved in the altercation and appeared to be a bystander.

The man was initially taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition. However, his condition was later upgraded to stable.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting. A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
