NYC libraries see increase in services since late fees forgiven

If you are still holding on to a library book that you never returned, no need to worry. The New York Public Library announced last fall that they were forgiving outstanding late fees and stopping late fees all together.
More than 21,000 items that were considered lost, have now returned to the shelves where they belong. Library officials say the feedback has been positive.
The New York Public Library tells News 12 that people feel encouraged to use the library again.
Library visits have increased by 14%, circulation is up 12% and there has been a 5% increase in new library cards
