9ds agoThe Nyack Union Free School District is set to hold a school board meeting to determine whether to remove the name of a late baseball coach from its facilities.
Board members plan to discuss eliminating the name of coach Dave Siegriest, who was accused of neglecting to deal with his former assistant, Peter Recla, accused of child sex abuse. Recla was accused of sexually abusing a student more than two decades ago and having a pattern of predatory behavior.
A lawsuit alleged the district failed to protect the student and was settled in 2020.
The meeting is taking place at Nyack High School and starts at 6:30 p.m.
