Starting Wednesday, people may not need a mask or be required to socially distance at many of the bars and restaurants here on Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains - if they are fully vaccinated.
The lifted mask mandate includes restaurants, gyms, salons and retail shops.
The CDC is still requiring masks in places like public transit, health care facilities and schools regardless of vaccination status.
Each business is responsible for checking their customer's vaccination status using their CDC card or with the Excelsior Pass.
Many business owners, including the one at the Lazy Boy Saloon in White Plains, are finding that process difficult to navigate.
"I'm not qualified to say if it's legit or not, you know. So, I'm just going to take people at their word," says Colum Flattery, of the Lazy Boy Saloon.
