New York Attorney General Letitia James has taken an initial step to seize former President Donald Trump's Seven Springs property in northern Westchester County.
Trump has until Monday to post an appeals bond of nearly half a billion dollars, an amount he says he does not have.
He has asked the court to allow him to put up a lesser amount or delay posting until after the appeal.
Last month, a judge issued the judgment after finding Trump and others liable for fraud related to the Trump organization.
Now James' office has filed judgments in Westchester County. It is the first indication the state is preparing to try to seize the Trump golf course and private estate there.
The next steps could include a lien or moving to foreclose.
