"The Nutcracker" ballet is set to open this weekend at the Westchester County Center.

The ballet is about a girl and her fascination with a new Christmas toy that whisks her away to a magical kingdom.

"We like to give the families of Westchester the opportunity to see a professional production in Westchester," says Nicholas Logrea, of the Westchester Ballet Company.

Logrea says this year's show is full of fabulous costumes, special effects, intricate sets and top-of-the-line performances.
