Thousands of Bronx nurses could be hitting the picket line at Montefiore Medical Center.
According to the New York State Nurses Association, which represents 2,000 workers at the local hospital, a strike is possible if negotiations over a new contract remain unsettled.
More than 22,000 office and apartment cleaners in The Bronx are also prepared for a work stoppage. Local 32BJ, of the Service Employees International Union, says that more than 4,000 of their workers will strike if they don't have a new contract when the current one expires Jan. 1.
