A North Salem town justice is being disciplined for trying to use his status as a judge to get his neighbors a pistol license.
The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct says John Aronian repeatedly identified himself as a judge in support of a neighboring couple who were applying for pistol permits.
The commission said in a statement that the judge should be admonished.
Aronian agreed and will remain on the bench.
Aronian has been a justice since 2016, with his current term expiring at the end of next year.
