A nor'easter threatens a wintry mix in the middle of the busiest travel day of the year.
The rain and snow that are threatening the northeast could cause delays or even cancellations of flights throughout the region. Drivers may also experience slick, dangerous conditions on the roads.
Stores in the Bronx say they are ready for the first significant storm of the season. Supplies such as salt and shovels are stacked up at spots like Flannery Hardware on East Tremont Avenue and Home Depot in Throgs Neck.
Workers say they are prepared for customers and have all of the necessary equipment needed for the impending bad weather.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo is urging all to be safe when traveling during the holiday. Even though conditions are not expected to be severe, he is asking drivers to plan accordingly, schedule extra time and leave earlier if possible.
