A raging fire that left a Rockland County man homeless rekindled over night.
The fire destroyed the home at 28 Wilshire Drive in Chestnut Ridge, but the man escaped unharmed.
Witnesses say the fire began in the kitchen and quickly spread to the rest of the home.
Firefighters initially put the fire out on Friday after 4 p.m., but they say the flames sparked again at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
Firefighters say they spent another two hours putting out flames the second time. The rekindling could have been caused by live wires, they say.
