Westchester County avoided an official heat wave on Wednesday.
News 12 meteorologist Joe Rao says that temperatures at Westchester County Airport reached a high of 88 degrees today.
Rao says isolated showers are possible this evening and that heavy, isolated thunderstorms are expected for Thursday afternoon into Friday morning.
Thursday's storms will usher in a break in the high temperatures, with Thursday's high expected to be around 76 degrees.
