Police say a New Jersey man killed his ex-wife before kidnapping his daughters and then committed suicide in a Fort Montgomery motel today. According to police, Heather Trapp was found dead last night in ex-husband Anthony Trapp's apartment in Old Bridge Township. He then took his daughters, 5-year-old Emma and 20-month-old Sophia, to the Bear Mountain Bridge Motel. An Amber Alert was issued for the children, and state police say they received a tip at around 3:15 a.m. that Trapp had checked into the motel. A trooper says he spotted the car Trapp was believed to be driving, prompting SWAT teams and hostage negotiators to surround the building. Police attempted to contact the father using a bullhorn, and even sent robots and tear gas into the room. They found the father dead from an apparent suicide. The children walked out of the room unharmed, and are currently hospitalized and with family. For extended Chopper 12 footage of the Fort Montgomery Motel raid, click on iO Extra on Channel 612.
