(AP) -- Advocates of tougher gun control measures are embarking on their third annual bike ride from Newtown to Washington.
The group that calls itself Team 26 is setting out Saturday morning on the 400-mile ride that is expected to take them four days. Twenty children and six educators were killed in the December 2012 shooting at Newtown's Sandy Hook Elementary School.
The 26 cyclists are drawing attention to their campaign for measures including requiring all gun sales to be subject to a background check and a ban on high-capacity magazines.
The group is planning stops along the way in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
The ride will end at the steps of the Capitol.
