Hundreds of elementary students in Port Jervis got the chance to learn about 35 different careers Wednesday at their school's career day, and News 12's Blaise Gomez was among the professionals who spent the morning talking to Anna S. Kuhl Elementary students.
Other professionals invited to attend included people in health care, law enforcement and the food industry.
The school’s principal says it's the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic that they’ve been able to hold the popular event.
"I think it’s just a great opportunity for the kids," said Brett Cancredi. "We used to have fourth, fifth and sixth grade, but we brought third grade in a few years ago, so I think it’s just great to give them an opportunity to see what else is out there.”
Blaise says many of them are “natural reporters” and asked some great questions about what it’s like being in the media industry.
