Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Schools Chancellor David Banks are launching a Chefs Council to improve the menu at public schools.
Mayor Adams and Schools Chancellor Banks say the launch is a partnership with Wellness in the Schools (WITS). The board will develop nutritious and culturally relevant meals for schools with direct input from students and parents. The mayor says healthy food is essential for a child's success.
School cooks in all public schools will be trained in implementing the new recipes, which will be introduced as a monthly seasonal menu.
