Newburgh's school superintendent set to get double-digit pay raise
Newburgh's school superintendent is set to receive a double-digit pay raise this year.
School board members will vote on Dr. Roberto Padilla's $30,000 raise Wednesday night.
It bumps Padilla's salary up to $279,000 for the first year and $282,000 for the second year.
A district representative says Padilla was underpaid, adding, "Dr. Padilla has more experience than many superintendents in the region yet has been compensated less prior to this adjustment."
Top educator salaries in a few of the Hudson Valley's largest school districts range from $323,000 in Middletown to $230,000 in Arlington.
