Newburgh police say a total of five incidents in three days are now under investigation.
The incidents included two stabbings, a shooting and two calls for shots fired.
Neighbors say the violence is all too familiar in the City of Newburgh as it continued to terrorize fearful residents over the weekend.
The crime-plagued, cash-strapped city is considered one of the most dangerous places to live in New York.
Despite that statistic, city officials decided last month to lay off more than a dozen police officers to balance the budget.
While law enforcement struggles to fight crime there, they say at least three people were hurt in the recent rash of violence.
So far, police say the victims are not cooperating.
The incidents are under investigation.
