A hit-and-run driver plowed into a Newburgh pedestrian this morning and left the victim in the middle of the street.
Police say a 58-year-old woman was flipped over the car around 8:20 a.m. on Broadway and Dubois Street.
News 12's Blaise Gomez shot cellphone video of the scene immediately after the collision as residents tried to help the victim until paramedics arrived.
The victim was transported to St Luke's Hospital in Newburgh, which is just down the street from the accident scene. The victim is being kept overnight for observation, but is expected to be fine.
The driver of the black Nissan eventually turned herself in to police. She's been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
