The New York Knicks have opted for a change of scenery for their training camp this year.
For the first time since 1966, the team is practicing at Christl Arena on the grounds of the United States Military Academy at West Point. With the academy known for its great leaders, head coach Derek Fisher is hoping the new setting will be inspirational.
After a disappointing season last year that ended with not making the playoffs, the Knicks hope to turn over a new leaf with a new coaching staff.
Keeping a close eye on the practice was President Phil Jackson's former teammate and legendary center Willis Reed. The Hall of Famer says he liked what he saw in the new coaching staff and believes the Knicks will be contenders in the east sooner than later.
