As more of you put up Christmas trees, the New York Division of Homeland Security has some safety reminders.
Don't mix a tree's electric supply with its water.
Keep the tree hydrated. Water it every day.
Keep the tree away from heat, including fireplaces and vents.
Make sure your lights aren't frayed and don't have exposed wiring.
Always unplug the lights before leaving home or going to sleep.
