A New Windsor woman who was fighting to bring her three orphaned nieces to America has finally won her two-year immigration battle.
Suki Chen finally has her nieces with her. The girls have been taking care of themselves in China since a hit-and-run accident killed their mother in 2016 and left their father with a serious brain injury.
The girls joined their extended family here in America, including four cousins, on Friday.
"Their lives are going to be changed because they need to be changed," says Chen. Chen says the girls' father is happy because he knows she will take care of them.
One thing the girls say they like so far about America is KFC. Chen plans to teach the girls English and prepare them for school.
The girls are here on a one-year visa. Renewal of the visa depends on their father's health.
