News 12 has confirmed the identity of the man who died after being seriously injured following a block party in New Windsor earlier this month.
According to his obituary, the victim was 41-year-old Jigar Shah, a resident of New Windsor. Shah died Sept. 8, two days after the incident on Frank Street that also left two other men with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said Shah and the other victims were cleaning up after the block party when they were injured. Scanner traffic that night initially reported multiple people falling off the back of a pickup truck. Police will not confirm how the men were injured or if anyone will face charges, saying the incident remains under investigation.
A close friend, who asked not to be named, told News 12 that Shah was a wonderful person, full of energy, married with two children, and worked for JP Morgan.
Services for Shah were held earlier this month at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers in Monroe, followed by cremation in Chester.
News 12 will continue to follow this developing story.
