New technology was put in place on Friday in an effort to keep Newburgh residents safe from gun violence.
The ShotSpotter system will allow police to quickly respond to gun violence in the area.
Once gunshots are fired, ShotSpotter's real-time alerts will notify police so they can have a better chance of tracking down the shooter.
The system is being used in more than 90 cities across the United States.
