The school board at the troubled East Ramapo Central School District met for the first time with its new interim superintendent Monday.
Deborah Wortham led the board meeting at Ramapo High School.
Wortham started her new role last week, taking over for Joel Klein after he resigned from his post of five years.
The state Department of Education recently ruled that the public school district's mostly Hasidic Jewish school board gave preferential treatment to Jewish students at private schools at the expense of its enrolled students.
The district is currently under the supervision of state-appointed monitors.
