Nurses are gathering again today outside Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital demanding to be allowed back to work.
The protest comes after some nurses have not been allowed to return to the hospital after taking part in a two-day strike last week.
According to the state nurses association, the move has left the hospital understaffed and is putting patients at risk.
The hospital has said the return may be delayed due to the lack of admitted patients. However, the association says patient volume has returned throughout most of the hospital.
Hospital officials tell News 12 that 167 of the 200 nurses that went on strike are already back at work, and they say nurses union leadership was irresponsible for walking out on the New Rochelle community.
Nurses union officials say they are working with Montefiore management to get back to the bargaining table and hope to have something by Thursday.
