A Memorial Day parade in New Rochelle honored all men and women who have served and who continue to serve in the U.S. armed forces.
Monday's parade was dedicated to the soldiers that have risked their lives for the freedom of all American citizens. The parade featured music and a barbecue for all those who attended.
After the parade, the community gathered at New Rochelle's Hudson Park, where a special ceremony was held for fallen soldiers.
James Tudy, a Vietnam veteran, says Memorial Day is the most important of the year.
"It's a somber day when I think about what I went through, and I think about my buddies who didn't come home, that bothers me every day of my life," says Tudy. "But it's a happy day to see the coming together ? the unity together, that makes it a great day."
