Family, friends and neighbors rallied in New Rochelle Wednesday to support a man accused in a barbershop murder.
High school custodian Duran Washington, 23, is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly shooting 25-year-old Coray Kidd three times in June. Police say Kidd was getting his hair cut in Mount Vernon and they believe the shooting was over a woman. Authorities say Washington was picked out of a lineup. He is due in court next month.
Washington?s supporters gathered to raise money for his defense. They describe him as a hard-working, responsible man who took care of his young daughter and stayed off the streets.
