The Clarkstown town board is appointing Raymond McCullagh as the new police chief.
McCullagh is currently a lieutenant in the Clarkstown Police Department.
He has been a cop for three decades, most of it with the Clarkstown Police Department.
His swearing in ceremony will be this Tuesday at Town Hall.
McCullagh will replace Michael Sullivan.  The town board voted to fire Sullivan after he was charged with illegal surveillance and abuse of power.
