Young residents of Yonkers now have an exciting new playground to explore and enjoy as Pitkin Park unveiled its renovated facilities.
The project involved extensive work, including the construction of new playground facilities, improved drainage and site enhancements.
This renovation marks the first of three planned park upgrades scheduled for August.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Mike Spano expressed his delight and highlighted the significance of open spaces like Pitkin Park in fostering the healthy development of children.
"Today we're enjoying a series of ribbon-cuttings to rededicate for some of our city parks with Pitkin Park. Having this open space is so, so crucial to their development," said Spano.
With its inclusion among 80 neighborhood parks scattered throughout the city of Yonkers, Pitkin Park provides abundant opportunities for outdoor play and recreation for the community's youth.
