Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino announced a new deal with New York-based Standard Amusements aimed to restore Playland to its former glory.
They will also introduce new rides, restore historic rides that are already there, and upgrade the restaurants and food choices.
Under the five-year, $25 million agreement, Standard Amusements will pay Westchester County more than $2 million upfront, $300,000 more annually, and 7 1/2 percent of profits once they recoup their initial investment.
The deal would also keep at least part of the park open year-round
The Board of Legislators must OK the proposed plan within 60 days in order for it to become a reality.
