A New City man pleaded not guilty to robbery and larceny charges Tuesday.

Jamie Bass is being kept in police custody because of three prior felony convictions and another open grand and petty larceny case stemming from an incident last summer.

Police say Bass went to Chase Bank in Nanuet Monday and passed a note to the teller demanding money.

He was later apprehended at a hotel and taken into custody.

His attorney is planning to go into county court Wednesday to file an application for bail.
