There are new allegations of animal abuse at a horse farm previously investigated in Orange County following a News 12 exclusive report last week.
Disturbing images given to News 12 since our report shows a horse being whipped and sprayed in the face at the Corinthian Equestrian Center in Warwick.
Former clients who boarded horses there are coming forward and say they’ve notified police.
Deanna Dugan boarded her horse at the farm in 2018.
“She beat the tar out of it with a lunge whip," says Dugan.
Dugan says the businesses owner, Leora Dillion, is mistreating horses in her care and says she has notified police.
So has former client Mike Buono, of Warwick.
“After we saw Leora’s training methods, we told her we didn’t want her riding our horse anymore," says Buono. "I went to police. She booted us out that night. Told us to get the horses out by 8 p.m. or she’d sell them at auction.”
Dillon denied the allegations and invited News 12 to the farm on Wednesday.
“Every video and picture you’ve gotten I have a perfect explanation for," she says.
She says she’s being framed by people who know the property owner amid a landlord-tenant dispute to revoke her lease in court.
Dillon says the videos and a photo of a horse foaming at the mouth are part of her efforts to train the animals.
She says images of another horse’s injuries happened in a trailer accident in which she provided veterinary care.
Warwick police say a prior investigation found the horses at that farm were not being abused.
News 12 reached out to Warwick police for an update on the case but hasn't heard back.
