Residents along Scarsdale Road near Strathmore Road in Yonkers say someone is dumping construction debris in the area, and they want it stopped.
The scattered piles consist of tile, cinder blocks and dirt. One pile was dumped inside the parking lot of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
News 12 received an email from a viewer who says the dumpings have been happening for the past two weeks and occur mostly at night.
Some neighbors have filed complaints with police, and other neighbors put up signs hoping to persuade whoever is dumping the material to stop.
If caught, a city spokesperson says the person could face up to a $5,000 fine.
Witnesses can call the city's dump hotline to report any illegal dumping at 377-DUMP.
