Tips from neighbors gave Mount Vernon police just the information they needed to make three arrests that resulted in breaking up a stash house.Police say 23-year-old Anwar Nicholas, Jacquan Nicholas, 20, and Justin Jones, 17, took over an empty apartment on the first floor of an Amsterdam Place building. Neighbors told police the space was being used to sell crack cocaine. Mount Vernon Police Commissioner David Chong says the department takes calls from civilians seriously and considers the public a partner in enforcing quality of life. All three men have been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon. The arrests took place Monday.
