The National Weather Service is evaluating the storm that passed through Cortlandt to determine whether it will be categorized as a microburst.
High winds and heavy rains swept through the section of Stevenson Avenue with a vengeance, knocking out electrical power to about 300 homes.
Residents in the area had windows blown out, plants uprooted and trees across their lawns and cars. Nobody was hurt.
News 12 is told that power was restored to almost all of the homes in the area by late Friday afternoon.
