One of Westchester’s great football rivalries will add another chapter this weekend.
Nanuet and Pearl River will battle each other in the 55th annual "Little Brown Jug" game.
Nanuet is the favorite again and will try to win the jug for the eighth time in nine years. But the unbeaten Golden Knights are not taking their neighbors lightly.
"It's always great to play a jug game against Pearl River,” said linebacker Tyler Conjura. “Against your rival, you know there's always a little extra juice in you when you're playing your rival, you want to go out there, have fun and win the game.”
Conjura’s teammate, WR Nick Lanoce, added that there is a certain intensity with their long-time foe.
“Beating Pearl River is one of the best feelings you can have playing as a Nanuet football player,” he said.
“Your last one, you really want to go out with a bang, really want to put a hit on them and you know, really go out the right way."
