"Murder on the Hudson" suspect Angelika Graswald gave a new jailhouse interview to ABC News as she awaits trial for the murder of her fiance.
Graswald answered questions during an episode of "20/20" about the April drowning of Vincent Viafore.
Graswald and Viafore were kayaking on the Hudson River in April when Viafore's kayak tipped over.
Graswald was arrested days later and accused of setting up his drowning. Prosecutors say Graswald intentionally removed the drain plug from his kayak and watched him drown.
During her interview, "20/20" reporter Elizabeth Vargas directly asked Graswald if she tampered with Viafore's kayak, to which Graswald responded that she did not.
Prosecutors say Graswald admitted to police that she tampered with the kayak, and that she also allegedly said that it "felt good knowing he was going to die." However, Graswald says Orange County police questioned her for six hours before she broke down and admitted to something she now says isn't true.
She says she loved Viafore and their life in Poughkeepsie, and was looking forward to their future. Graswald says that the only thing she wanted to be free of was the couple's partying lifestyle.
Graswald remains in the Orange County Jail with bail set at $9 million. Her murder trial is tentatively set for next spring.
