State Sen. Shelley Mayer is joining the race to replace New York State Attorney General Leticia James, who is running for governor.

State Sen. Shelley Mayer is joining the race to replace New York State Attorney General Leticia James, who is running for governor.
This is according to multiple sources, who tell our senior reporter Tara Rosenblum that a formal announcement is expected later this week.
The Yonkers Democrat has served in the state Senate since 2018. Before that, she served as a state assemblywoman and worked 12 years in the state Attorney General’s Office.
