A dream vacation has turned into a nightmare for a Westchester woman who has been stuck in Barcelona for days.
Ashley Vespia of Rye Brook says she is fearing for her life. She just went on a 12-day Mediterranean cruise, but things went awry when her flight home via Air France was suddenly switched to Delta.
"We were directed on a shuttle bus to an airplane where we sat on the tarmac for over two hours, and then they notified us that there was a crack in the windshield."
After waiting for three hours, Vespia and other passengers learned their flight was rebooked for the following morning. That flight would be delayed and then canceled again.
After nearly three days in the airport, Vespia says she has tried calling and emailing Delta and has received little to no information if their plane is safe to board.
Delta told News 12, "Delta will refund customers' tickets as a gesture of apology for the disruption to their travel and customers have been re-accommodated on an alternate flight Tuesday morning."
After releasing that statement, Vespia says her Tuesday flight has already been delayed two hours.
