Some Metro-North riders will soon be paying more.

At a meeting Wednesday, the MTA Board approved fare hikes to take effect around Aug. 20.

All weekly and monthly passes will increase about 4.5%

One-way fares into New York will have a range of increases from zero to 10%.

As News 12 reported last Friday, fares on the Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines will not see an increase.

Officials say the fares are modest and needed to keep up with inflation.
