As New Yorkers kick off Memorial Day weekend, MTA officials are asking that their services be left for the essential workers.
“We ask is that all who do not need to ride with us [don’t] unless it’s an essential trip and that if you do need to use public transportation that you wear a mask or face covering,” says Phil Eng, LIRR President.
Officials say extra police will be on patrol at key locations to handle any potential crowds.
The MTA is also continuing with its ramped up disinfecting schedules, cleaning all stations twice a day.
