The Mount Vernon Police Department arrested a person they say stole a car with an infant still inside.
Police say the car was allegedly stolen near Birch Street and Westchester Avenue on Tuesday.
The vehicle was found with the child inside near police headquarters a short time later.
Police say the 1-year-old was not injured during the incident.
Police took 52-year-old Tiauna Crump, of Mount Vernon, into custody.
She is charged with kidnapping, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.
