More progress is being made in Mount Vernon as the city works to demolish more zombie homes.

Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard says another home that has been a neighborhood eyesore is now in the process of being torn down.

The abandoned house is on 113 South Franklin Ave.

Dozens of these “zombie homes” are in the process of either being renovated or completely demolished.

The mayor says more than 90 of the dilapidated properties have been identified over the past year and a half.
