A Mount Vernon teenager has been arrested in connection to a shooting last Friday near a gun violence awareness event.

Officials say 18-year-old Jayden Campbell was arrested in the Bronx.

He was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon.

The incident happened before 5 p.m. at 42 West 4th Street.

Mount Vernon police and state police assisted in the arrest.
