Residents in Mount Vernon looking to cool off at the pool at Willson's Woods Park were turned away Thursday.
The pool was shut down after a power outage knocked out service to part of the area Wednesday at 7 p.m. People who tried to beat the heat at the pool were disappointed that the facility was closed. Many said they would go to another county pool.
The Westchester County parks commissioner says after power is restored, it will take six to eight hours to get the pool ready to be open to the public. Park officials hope to have the pool open on Friday.
