One of three men convicted in a $7.9 million COVID-19 fraud scheme will serve 11 years in prison, according to the US Attorney’s Office.

Authorities say 39-year-old Jacob Carter was sentenced at federal court in White Plains.

The former Mount Vernon resident was accused of being the mastermind behind the scheme.

He, his brother and Quadri Salahuddin were all convicted last year of submitting over 1,000 false applications to the Small Business Administration to help with revenue loss from the pandemic.
