Police say a 21-year-old Mount Vernon man was shot in the middle of a city street Saturday and is in the hospital fighting for his life.Police say the shooting took place on West Third Street near the corner of Sharpe Boulevard, where the victim was shot four times with a large caliber gun. A local resident took video of the victim, who is hospitalized in critical condition, only moments after the shooting.Mount Vernon Mayor Ernie Davis confirmed that the shooter and victim were acquainted and had an altercation. Police are still investigating.
