Police say the incident occurred on 223rd Street in the Bronx at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
Officials apprehended the alleged driver, Kabiru Mohammed, only a few miles away on Dunham Street.
They say Mohammed was driving northbound on Jerome Avenue and made a right turn onto 233rd Street. Investigators say he then crossed over the double yellow lines and struck the 15-year-old bicyclist.
